MIVA evaluates DFK Projects

Monitoring was organized by Katalemwa Cheshire Home in partnership with MIVA to access the contribution of two motorcycles. The motorcycles played a vital role in the implementation of projects like; provision of safe and clean water, food security training for small scale vulnerable and caretakers of children with a disability to grow fruits, vegetables and crops for a balanced diet. MIVA representative Mrs. Raffy Luik – Program and Institutional fundraising-and Mr. Nangai Kenneth from Katalemwa arrived early at Dream Farm. There was a meeting with the staff, a tour to a women’s stall for value addition and handcrafts, demonstration garden, checked the status of motorcycles and the community water tanks and dam (reservoir). They proceeded to the trading center where the water is used for domestic purpose by residents and two Dairy Cooperatives to provide quality milk for sale.

The team also visited Nyakashashara Seed Secondary School. The school has a water tap for staff and students. It is also used to irrigate a vegetable garden and supply water to more than 800 recently planted trees, which were planted for the conservation of the environment.
