We are located in South Western Uganda in Kiruhura district about 200km from Kampala, with offices and a model farm at Kyakabunga Village, Nyakashashara Sub County
DFK organizes farmer groups and builds their capacity through hands-on trainings to adopt sustainable farming practices for food security and agro enterprise development for increased household income. Dream Farm Kyakabunga Group is governed by a board of five members that decide on the strategic direction of the organization. The committee is a policy maker, approves contracts, budgets and financial reports. We empower communities to manage thier environment for the benefit of the current and future generation. Concisely, we provide hands-on group trainings and extension support to individual beneficiaries’ farms / agro-enterprises.
DFK assists the most vulnerable people, regardless of religious beliefs, gender, race, or ethnic background.
DFK emphasizes empowering communities and schools to take charge of their own development and working in partnership with others such as community based self-sustaining groups. DFK strongly believes that the “development process belongs to the people” Communities are seen as owners and managers of their development process. Day to day activities are run by the Executive Director, assisted by Projects Manager, Finance and Planning Manager, Community Development Facilitator, M&E staff, Secretary, farm manager and other support staff.
